    Die Spring Selection and Use

Kalıpyansan has been manufacturing die components since 1981 and stands as a well-established manufacturer with deep industry experience. We are proud to be the only domestic manufacturer of square-section die springs in Turkey.

In die spring applications, one of the most critical factors is reliable manufacturing quality and consistent performance. As a manufacturer focused on high-quality production, Kalıpyansan offers durable and efficient solutions for a wide range of industrial needs. With our manufacturing expertise, long-standing experience, and commitment to quality, we deliver not only products, but also confidence to our customers.

Kalıpyansan die springs are manufactured in accordance with ISO 10243 standards as well as Kalıpyansan's own internal standards, and are available in 6 different load classes. This variety enables us to meet the diverse requirements of the die and machinery industries. Designed for high performance and long service life, our die springs help optimize production processes.

How to Select the Right Die Spring

When selecting a die spring, the required compression force should be determined using dimension tables based on spring diameter and length. Choosing the correct die spring model is essential for efficient system performance.

If the spring diameter and length are not clearly defined, the selection should be made based on the principle that maximum spring pressure is achieved with the longest spring length.

    Recommended Free Lengths

    • Light and Medium Loads: The free length of the spring should be approximately 6 times the working stroke.
    • Heavy Loads: For springs exposed to heavy loads, the free length is recommended to be 4 times the working stroke.

In applications with height limitations, shorter springs may be preferred. However, in such cases, the number of springs should be increased in a controlled manner according to the tool design.

To respond quickly to the needs of different industries, our die springs are color-coded according to load class and offered in a wide range of diameters and lengths.

    Technical Features of Die Springs

Kalıpyansan die springs are manufactured exclusively from specially produced, high-alloy, chrome-silicon quality square-section spring steel. This material choice ensures maximum durability and superior performance.

    Key Features

    • 6 different load classes: extra light, light, medium, heavy, extra heavy, and ultra heavy
    • High-quality manufacturing
    • Long service life
    • High strength and performance
    • Special dimensions suitable for 9 different bore and mandrel diameters

Each die spring is designed with optimum winding tendency, proper helix count, and maximum material volume. The edge dimension acts as a resistance factor against excessive spring deflection and helps ensure stable operation.

    End Finishing

It is important that die spring ends are properly seated and ground square. Grinding both pressure surfaces at 90 degrees ensures vertical contact with the plates, providing maximum contact area and improved performance.

    Temperature Resistance

Kalıpyansan die springs can operate at temperatures up to 250°C. Up to 120°C, no significant force loss occurs. For operating conditions above 120°C, an average 1% force loss should be calculated for every 50°C increase.

    Maintenance and Replacement

To maintain efficiency, it is recommended to replace all springs within the same group together, rather than replacing only a single spring.

    Physical Alterations

No physical alterations should be made to the springs after production. Operations such as shortening the spring length or modifying the inner diameter may negatively affect both performance and safety.
